Please arrive on time for your appointment.
Wear clothing that allows easy access to the skin of both upper extremities and the ventral gluteal area…that's your cheeks, but not the cheeks on your face. We will collect your vital signs (HR, BP, O2 and temperature), and ask you to stay hydrated throughout the day.
During Your Appointment:
A Registered Nurse will review your health information and ask if there have been any changes since your last encounter with us.
A peripheral intravenous catheter will be inserted with a small needle and placed in a large vein on one of your upper extremities.
Homecare Instructions:
After your drip, continue to hydrate yourself with water. Hydration after drip enhances the effectiveness and can help your body eliminate metabolic waste products more efficiently. Monitor the IV site and contact us if it's warm to the touch, red, or painful. Anticipate a post-drip phone call from us in the days following your drip. Take care until next time.

The nurse will prepare your ingredients, and administer as an IV push or added to your IV solution.
From Start to finish the process takes 45-90 minutes for IV IM shots take approximately 15 minutes.
