IV Hydration & Micronutrients

A “Drip” is when we infuse sterile fluid i.e Normal Saline, or Lactated Ringers directly into your bloodstream by the use of an IV catheter. After that access is established we administer micronutrients, trace elements, amino acids, and antioxidants to your body. These “ingredients”, as we like to call them, are metaphorical little keys that unlock the biochemical reactions& pathways that occur in your body and we have these key components readily available.

During your infusion, your body makes good use of these “ingredients”. Your cells start firing on all cylinders, cleans up damaged cellular pathways, and activates your metabolism, circulation, and immune response. This process stimulates your body to naturally start to perform like the miracle it was intended to be. In turn, your cells become healthier.

Our bodies are made up of over 1-TRILLION cells each having its own duty. It takes about 90 days to fully regenerate your cells. Our bodies are under constant stress which has impeded this regeneration. Supporting this cellular regeneration with micronutrients helps your body replace old damaged cells with good new healthy ones.

Our goal is to put your health as a top priority, although we cannot eliminate aging we can help support your body making it easier to detoxify and enhance your overall well-being. Rewinding the clock of time can give you a better chance of fighting off dis-ease and receiving routine customized “Drips” with Natural Nurse Solutions will set you up for success in the years to come.

Who To Prepare For Your IV Drip

Intravenous therapy is one of the most effective ways to administer nutrients, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and other nutrients into the body. IV-administered nutrients are absorbed quicker than oral supplementation because it bypasses your digestive system allowing your body a longer saturation of nutrients within your cell. Many people use IV therapy to boost energy, pre for workouts & competitions, regenerate cellular function, and can even cure a hangover. IV therapy is the quickest most effective way to support your body's nutrient demands. We want you to be prepared before having your IV. Listed below are a few steps you can take to ensure and maximize the benefits of your infusion.

Hydrate & Snack

When your body is hydrated your vascular system aka your veins are much more prominent and easier to access. We encourage you to drink water before arriving to have your administration. Having a small snack before is also recommended. This helps stabilize your blood sugar. We recommend hydration and snacks before a drip because this can also help avoid nausea and lightheadedness during or after your administration.

Avoid Vasoconstriction Drugs

All prescribed cardiac medications should be taken as directed. We recommend avoiding over-the-counter vasoconstrictive medications such as anti-histamines or decongestants i.e. Benadryl & Sudafed. Try to avoid taking these over-the-counter medications the morning of your appointment. These medications can cause vasoconstriction which causes your blood vessel to contract, making it difficult to access your vein. If you have to take any of the listed medications ensure you are EXTRA hydrated coming in for your IV insertion.

Dress for Your IV Injection

We want you to be comfortable during your appointment. The appointment can last 45-60 minutes, so we recommend you wear something that is comfortable sitting for that amount of time. If you want sweats and a tank, or your little black dress we don’t care as long as we can access your arms to insert the IV and monitor your infusion. The fluids are about 20 degrees less than your body temp so during your infusion you can get a little chilled. We recommend layering for temperature control. Also remember if might have to use the bathroom during your infusion so make it easy on yourself. We do provide warm blankets and the ability to relax and rejuvenate on our Medical-Grade Amethyst Biomat. Whatever makes you feel warm, relaxed, and confident is the perfect outfit for your IV therapy.

Bring Entertainment

As entertaining as our Nursing Staff is, they may be attending to other clients during your infusion. Your infusion will take approximately 30-60 minutes and you might need something to help you pass the time. We always recommend mindfulness so try to unplug if you can. Meditate, journal, listen to music, and challenge your mind with a book or puzzle. Of course, you can always bring Netflix or Hulu but please bring headphones so that each of our guests can unwind to what is best for them. Feel free to chat with other guests about their drip or story of what has brought them to Wingspan Nursing, we help all walks of life.
